About:
this is NOT a 3d-simulation or "virtual reality" at all. Rather it is about simulating many different flips of a coin, draws of cards, or other processes where we have information about the probabilities of simple outcomes (we KNOW the probability of drawing the kind of hearts when drawing one card from a 52-card deck is 1/52) to then construct tens of thousands of more complex outcomes and ESTIMATE their probabilities. I can answer questions of the following kind:
Given that there are three queens on the flop and I have a jack and a ten, what is the probability that I will get a straight? (this one can be calculated as well as simulated)
In the game of Risk: given that I have nine soldiers on one territory and my opponent has seven on the neighboring one and I keep attacking in full force, what is the probability of conquering the territory? (this one would take a very lengthy calculation and may be easier to simulate)
